At the last minute we were bequeathed another double pass but dam if we could find two people who wanted to avail themselves of this opportunity. What the fuck? Speaking of helms, I must declare my love for the HBO series Game of Thrones. It has everything; swords, horses, iron thrones, castles, battles, an evil yet beautiful queen, be-heading, backstabbing, awesome costumes that remind me of Rick Owens, pet wolves, ravens, dragons, knights, hot men…..I could go on! The Game of Thrones has me in it’s thrall. In the meantime as I await Season 2 I am reading the George RR Martin series A Song of Ice and Fire which is the basis of the TV show. I am a third of the way through book 4 and have book 5 on pre-order. Turns out I like reading fantasy which came as quite a surprise as I was convinced this was not my thing given my penchant for hard SF. Generally I need FTL, space ships with minds and perhaps some mention of the singularity. Anyway let me finish with a further declaration of love this time for my Kindle. Kindle allows me to read 1000 page books whilst lying in bed without mishap! Seriously if you read plenty then get one, it’s most excellent and convenient.
